Emma

Livestock Guardian Dog

Emma (a Great Pyrenees) joined the pack of LGDs in March of 2025.  She was born here in Nevada County in August of 2024.  Emma is the first full blooded LGD breed I have owned in over 30 years.  Most of my LGDs coming from working ranches are cross bred in various combinations with other LGD breeds.

Emma's instinct to integrate with the stock was slow to develop, but with a little patience and teaming her with older, more experienced dogs, she shows a lot of promise.  She learns very quickly and appears to be very adaptable, an essential quality for a LGD in a targeted grazing operation like ours.
